Note: 2736, 2800 and 2832 are interesting. Newport News has one football stadium for its 5 high schools. Danged if the football coaches talking down to the sidelines don't talk through handhelds that are run through the repeater. That's the references to Todd Field. I can sit at home about 5 miles from the stadium, watch a game that's being televised on the local cable schools channel and know what play is being run before the ball is snapped! I fact, as I write this around 7:15, one set of coaches is going through their radio tests to make sure everything is working.
Newport News has just started simulcasting its fire dispatch frequency (154.130) on the Motorola Type II system. I've heard a couple of switches to fireground frequencies, but they haven't come up on the TrunkTracker. Before this move, police, fire and EMS were on their VHF and UHF. Supposedly police will make the move up in a couple of months.
Thanks to Lynn Burke for the Newport News information.
