Notes:

"The 800 MHz conventional system is operational in the east region of the state. The central region is due to be switched over by July 98, and the west region is due to be on 800 MHz by July 99. They would like to have the whole state trunked, but the cost is too prohibitive. Kansas EMS will be switching to 800 MHz later, and phasing out the MED 1-10 repeaters."

"In the state radio plan, the 800 MHz mutual aid channels (Calling, TACS 2-5) are designated for interagency communications only. There are to be repeaters on the calling channel in all areas of the state, and a repeater on the TAC channels listed in the Troops above."

"KDOT is also switching to a conventional 800 MHz system."

This unique system uses a few Public Safety trunked repeaters piggy-backed onto an existing SMR system to get a starter system going for Emergency Services.
